My wife has just bought a 2006 SE auto coupé to replace the Rover 200 coupé (Tomcat) she's owned and loved for years but was just getting a bit tired. The Hyundai is a lovely looking car and I enjoyed the short test drive so she's looking forward to driving it and I'm looking forward(?) to dealing with the inevitable issues - which I hope are few and far between.....

Can I just ask a very dumb question? My wife's new car is a 2006 (06 plate) 2.0 auto. Is this a series 3? Or how could I find out? It's still at the dealer at the moment while we clear space for it. Anybody want a mechanically good but cosmetically slightly challenged Rover 1.8 VVI Tomcat?

if it's an 06 plate then it's what's known as a gen 3.5 which is the facelift version of the gen 3, here's our handy mugshot guide showing each generation...

Looks slightly better in the photo than in the flesh but very nice.

It wasn't a 220 Turbo Tomcat Coupe was it? What did you do with the Tomcat?

Welcome to the forum and hopefully you will have many miles of fun in the Hyundai Coupe :)

No, it's a 1.8 VVI. Still on the drive at the moment. Lovely looking car and drives very well but has a few cosmetic, electrical and detail issues which TBH I can't be bothered with. Our next door neighbour runs a small garage so he'll probably take it but if you were interested......

1.8 VVC? Nice... I do like the Rover Coupes, but with moving and having a few project cars at the moment this is the wrong time for me I'm afriad!

Congratulations on the Coupe. It looks clean and straight.
