Guys what do you think is worth\would be a good price if i wanted to sell within a month? I initially put it for 1700 then with 0 replies went down to 1300 within 2.5 weeks. However I just realized I had put the wrong phone number but i corrected it now so maybe I was wrong to decrease the price. here is the updated add on ebay:

For the most part,selling coupes is difficult, it’s a small market and an ever increasing old car, the worlds moved on, it’s now mainly selling to boy racers and 1st time car owners, hence why no one spends much money, let alone four figure sums, the last built coupe now being 9 years old.

Missed the bit that said you wanted it gone within a month, in that case be prepared for a three figure number I’m afraid.
My car probably would not sell for £1300 and it’s on it’s original engine 47k, 5k worth of mods, it’s never wanted for anything, work has always been done as a pre emptive rather than after repair and is a garaged non daily drive.
It’s a shocker but truth sadly, been in the Coupe scene for nine years now and honestly believe I know where it’s at for coupe prices.

The coupe has always been a niche market, now they are entering scrap value era even more so.
It's a difficult car to replace looks wise for how much they cost, is there a direct replacement for it, sadly I think no.
I bought an SLK , but cheap it and ain't!!!!!!

When pricing your car, expect due to the things you listed, said buyer will tyre kick and expect £250 off most likely, so factor that into your price would be what I would do.

I recently sold a 2006 in red, full not with 56k on the clock for £750!!!!
Why so low, because I did not factor in tyre kicking due to timing belt being due for replacement, just something to think upon.

Coupes can go for over £1000 if they are sensible mileage, full service, long MOT and on original engine. That last part is what could be the Achilles heel on yours unfortunately.

However I don't see many 3 figure ones on there. the average price seems to be more like 1000 for a high mileage one. Are you saying these people are dreamers and they just won't sell, or at point of sale r going for peanuts?

£850 is probably about right. You have a modified car (which will reduce the value in most cases) with a replaced engine (this will also reduce the value, especially when we don't know why the engine was changed) and from your description it sounds like the bodywork has a couple of areas to sort out. Also bear in mind that your advert has been written to appeal to 18 year old lads so you have really narrowed your market.

Please don't think I am having a go, just wanted to point out what will be driving the value of the car. Really hope you get someone to buy it

Might it be better to remove the spoiler pics and lady comments? Might it get a wider audience\more interest this way? if so would the price be the same but only difference is that it will sell quicker? I guess I could also sell the wing and woofer separately.

The spoiler is removed but I put those and subwoofer pics in their in the hope that people would think lots had been spent and this would drive the value up more? Why do you say cosmetic mods reduce value in most cases? What about things like alloys?

I doubt the spoiler will make much difference but changing the overall sales pitch would definitely help drive more interest. As for value I cannot see it going for much more than your current price regardless of the advert/pics etc. It is what it is and £850 is about right.

To give you some idea of the market my V6 was modified quite heavily (£11k all in I think). I sold it for £1600 in 2012 and removed quite a few parts to sell separately (put stock items back on). That car had full service history and was immaculate. At the time stock V6's of that age were going for around £1800 in standard form. I priced mine just below and sold it in 1 hour. The parts I took off to sell separately I wish I had sold with the car as the money I got for them wasn't great (I could probably have got the same overall money selling the car as was) but I would have wasted less time.
