POTENTIAL SUSPENSION FAILURE

Arsenal has brought to our attention that some cars may suffer from a failure of the wishbones at the front of the car.

Please read here:

http://www.hyundaicoupeownersclub.co.uk ... 41&t=14867

This was subject to a Hyundai recall.

http://www.recalluk.com/recalls/cars/hy ... -2012.aspx

However if you have a later gen 3 it will also be affected.

This was the letter sent out.

important-having spoken officially to Hyundai uk

Contact your dealer immediately to check for outstanding warranty work on your car GEN3 up only.

Hyundai have an agreement with VOSA they are only responsible for cars up to 10 years old.

That would mean owners of 02 and 03 cars have no chance-UNLESS DEALER IS PREPARED TO DO AT THEIR COST.THEY DO NOT HAVE TO DO IT.

35 and 04 plate cars should check NOW their vehicles are ok.35 MAY BE OUT OF THE PERIOD.

04 plus can still get your car checked and repaired FREE.

PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP AT DEALERS DEMANDING WHEN THEY SAY YOU ARE NOT COVERED.

RING DEALER AND CHECK IF YOUR COVERED

same here can you please advise us who you emailed - I have a 52 GEN 3 (just bought 2 weeks ago) then joined this Forum - car looks and drives like a dream although spooky enough any time I go over a speed bump really slow there is a rattle/knocking sound from drivers front wheel side - steering is ok esp on motorway not putting foot down or anything but very smooth ....................should I be worried ???

Any info appreciated, suppose whilst I am asking are there good garages to go to in Glasgow for repair work

Firstly you can't have it done under warranty even if it was bad. Too old I'm afraid.

Knocking sound you need to check top nuts first....including centre one.

If its not them its your anti roll bar linkages.

My local dealer who had worked on the car already. You can get the contact details of your dealer online, quote you reg & VIN no and the recall link from this thread. They phoned me about an hour later. But that was TWG. Your dealer may be different.

Don't lets all email TWG, they'll get your address from the reg no. and if everyone in the country starts asking them, they'll get the hump and stop co-operating.

Holy thread resurrection... All affected cars will be out of the 10 year period by now so an expensive fix if needed.
