Clutch Failure

Not uncommon on any model in the range is Clutch Failure.

Hyundai clutches always tend to be high but if you got 80,000 miles from it then you're doing bloody well.

They are well known for early failure due to being 'ridden' and are a fairly poor clutch anyway as its not hard to make them slip even when fully working.

Buy with care and keep your eye on how it's doing.

Mine hit just over 100k before it started slipping.

Not a huge job to replace one either. Messy and time consuming, but do-able if you're confident

Does anyone know if removing the flow restrictor from the clutch slave cylinder prolongs the life of the clutch as iv read it can stop clutch slip through changes and setting off.

My clutch is at 91k and still tolerating 160 odd HP. The clutches are pretty good if you ask me! :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I was told/read somewhere that the biggest killer of the Coupe clutch is sitting at lights with the clutch depressed. Might just be hoodoo or even a dream but might be a consideration worth taking note of
