Hello everybody,
Well, having decided that an SIII coupe is what I would like, I thought it would be sensible to join up and hopefully get some help, advice, guidance, sympathy or anything else from other owners!
I'm looking for a car at the moment, with probably around £1500 to spend (I do have a car to swap as an option) but there are not many around, certainly where I live, so its a long trek just to look.
Anyway, I'm Matt, 44, living in North Norfolk, married, kids, dog, cats, the usual stuff.
Anyone here from my neck of the woods?
Cheers all
Matt

I don't really mind the distance. I found a really nice looking one not too far away but the seller won't reply to messages. Found another which needs a new clutch, I'm guessing that's a £500 job at a garage. Still. Keep looking as you say.

On the plus side, at least if you know it needs a new clutch, you won't get caught out. My first Coupe, a gen 3 needed one at 44k miles, my second. an S111, had already had a new one at 33k, 4 k before I bought it.
The clutch tends to be an area of concern, for 3 possible reasons: 1/ it has a valve enforcing a slow release, this can be removed, opinion is divided as to whether this is a good idea. 2/ It has a very high bite point. It's not inconceivable that on some, it never fully releases. 3/ Because of the high bite point, riding the clutch is VERY bad, but we all know some people do it.
Might be worth having a look at the car, if the price reflects the need for replacement.

No Dougal! This one is small, but that one is far away. Small. FAR away!

£1200 for a 2007 2.0?
Got a lead on a 2009 SIII for £1400 needing a bit of body repair.
They are about, just a long way off to drive and find out they're a pup.
