Hey everyone, just bought a 2007, 2.7 siii, and looking forward to being part of the club.
Im another import story here, for family reasons I moved to England last year from Australia (im a very lucky dual citizen).
Last month month I finally recieved my full UK licence, and have since been looking for a daily driver, whilst my Australian car is being shipped over. Unfortunately insurance here, like anywhere, is so ridiculously unethical and discriminatory, that my Australian driving and car history counts for nothing, and premiums are off the charts, forcing me to look for little cheap and chearful cars i normally wouldnt glance at - before you get angry, the Hyundai coupe is NOT included in that .
Being an enthusiast and having a reputation as "the car guy" with my family and friends, I found it hard to bring myself to look at many of the cars I was finding on the market. I was going to give up untill someone suggested I look at the Hyundai Coupe, which i had completely missed, because in Australia it goes by tbe name of the "Tiburon". Once it was on the radar, I immediately set out find one, as its quite a cool car, very reliable, and much cheaper than expected.
With my other weekend car (arriving soon) being a manual, I wanted an auto transmission for the Hyundai. I found several and decided on this red siii. Ive got a feeling its prob someone from the forums allready as the previous owner has done some very minor cosmetic work to it.
Other than a dashcam, I promised myself over and over ... and over, ....and over again, that I wasnt going to modify any daily driver i buy here. My other car is heavily modded, so no mods on the Hyundai...., i would just leave it alone, mods are for the weekend car only.
That thought last about 5 minutes.
With insurance clearance for any cosmetic mods i like, Im already thinking about a total debadging, rear wiper and spoiler removal, 3rd brake light relocation, exhaust tips, some wrapping of the internal plastics and possibly tbe lower front grill, new car mats plus possibly a seat swap/change/mod (as I kinda liked the style of a tsiii interior i looked at.)
Im picking it up early next week, so I only have the dealers pics at present, here it is, feel free to let me know if you recognise it:)

Dont mind at all, it's a toyota supra with a few mods.ImGoingSpace wrote:welcome. Whats the other car if you dont mind me asking
Well, maybe a bit more than a few... like, a lot more than a few... More than enough to loose a driving license ridiculously quickly lol.
Unfortunatly its going to be in storage for at least the next 6-12 months, thanx to the insurance companies.
So in the meantime, and being an australian used to long distances, im going to try and take this thing around the country and put that Hyundai reliability to the test
