V6i SE
I have an insurer saying they can only find a Coupe (2002 onwards) V6i se.
I queried the 'i SE' but they couldn't find anything else. Is that correct? I cannot find anything referring to the 'i SE'.
I have an 05 Gen 3 V6

Re: V6i SE
Yeah UK.
Thats what I said to them, they tried to create the car manually on their system but came back and said I was mis-informed and that they searched the thatcham database and no such car exists.

Re: V6i SE
Haha I know. Such a daft problem. Surely someone, somewhere must have insured a coupe v6 with DL.
Cheers for confirming anyway, guys.

Re: V6i SE
Yeah, this only came about because I want to temporarily add the coupe to my other cars insurance.
Cheapest quote at the moment for my coupe is Aviva, including the sponsored ones.

Re: V6i SE
Not necessarily true Dan. The V5 can only show what the car was originally registered as (unless changed)danarama wrote:Well it won't show V6i SE because they don't exist.
The AFRL registration used to be manually inputted by a dealership's Administrator, so it is possible that a mistake could have been made at that point.
I have seen it a hundred times.
When I bought my SIII the V5 came through as a TSIII Automatic!!
Obviously I sent it back to DVLA to get it changed.

Ha don't worry I wouldn't ask for them or anything I was just going to ask you to double check so I could argue with them some more!

Re: V6i SE
Just an update - called Hyundai to confirm the existence of a V6i SE. As we all knew - it doesn't.
Went onto DL website to see if all Coupes have the wrong trim. They all have an 'i' after the engine size, and it looks like someone mistakenly put 'SE' instead of 'V6'.
Called DL to complain and get it sorted, only to be told the guy who originally set the quote up had done it wrong. Turns out if they can't find your car or there's something wrong, they can literally take your word for it and overtype what's on the database.
The end.
