Insurance so high for some!

I never pay more than around £320 for my 2 litre automatic, but when a friend was thinking of taking it over, she was horrified - and so was I - to find that she was being quoted £1800!

Insurance is a complete lottery. The best thing to do is shop around for some prices and then call one of the partners of the site (such as Chris Knott) to see if they can do better
Suffers from CDO! It's the same as OCD but the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be.

it varies on such a huge list which can include, Area you live (this can change dramatically from moving a few streets over!) Age, Gender (apparently not allowed to use this but I haven't noticed any change as of yet), years of driving, spec and age of car, previous accidents, your house and history within the house (doesn't even have to be related to you) crime in the area, dependant on age the site partners wont insure you (as I did find out) your job, the miles you drive, when you tend to drive and well its almost Impossible to say them all aha, best advice as above shop around, sometimes places that aren't on comparison sites are better sometimes not other times specialist insurances are needed.
