Well in all my years having owned 28 cars all my log books that have had this on have stood for engine size.

Im not an insurance guy so stand to be corrected, I know my current Coupe logbook say 'l' and not an 'I'

It is all in CAPS on there screen shot you show, so maybe you are right, although your using some kind a mobile app for insurance purposes which I would not trust for correct grammar in the slightest.

Well the 'cc' is in lower case, so they may have measurements in lower and everything else in upper - in which case it would be an 'l' (for lima). They read it out as an 'i' on the phone but if the first guy was stupid enough to make the original mistake, whose to say he can read?
