I know the one. I don't think its cracked but will look again. Is there an easy way to tell?

If you take the cover off before engine is hot as soon as you turn it on spray it with some soap and bubble (washing up liquid and water in a spray bottle ;) ) but it'll only work when cold, if there is a leak you'll soon know as the bubbles will go mad :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Good idea I'll try that later :)

I doubt it's that its a brand new manifold

A pre-cat exhaust leak could trigger a low voltage fault code because the input of air would cause the sensor to continuously read what it sees as a lean mixture (0.9v = rich, 0.1v = lean) yet it ought to be oscillating between the two.

Given the propensity of such leaks it'd be where I'd be looking, particularly as you've replaced the sensor. If the manifold is new then perhaps not so much looking for cracks but rather leaks around the flanges. You can't use any form of sealant on them and so if an old gasket was used it might be passing.

Do you mean Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction? Is the replacement lambda sensor known to be good?

The sensor only functions once its hot and so has a built-in heater to bring it up to speed before the engine has fully warmed up. If the ECU doesn't receive an adequate signal (oscillating between 0.1v and 0.9v) before the engine is up to temp then it concludes that the heater must have failed, or of course the whole sensor.

Yes it's what I mean. As far as I know it was a new lambda. Worth trying another?

I'd probably send it back for a replacement. You wouldn't expect a new sensor to be faulty but I suppose it could happen. Is it a genuine OEM part? (It should have a Hyundai part number on it)

Dont use the Launch CRP129, it doesnt recognise generation 2s

I bought the CPR129 thinking it woukd do both my generation 2 and my Land Rover Discovery TD5. It recognises some of the Land Rover system but there is no Generation 2 1996 to 2001 facility on it

I'd be very cautious about using anything except Nanocom or Hawkeye on the Disco. Other readers can give very odd results especially on the SLS and ACE systems.

I use a first generation Nanocom on my 2001 Discovery Td5 and it must have saved me hundreds over the years.
