Hi guys I'm looking to de cat my car as I sprayed half of it all over the car park yesterday... rather amusing but it is squealing now and is annoying the hell out of me!!! Has anyone done it before? On a gen 3.5 05 plate 2.0 se coupe thanks guys!

Can be cut out and a straight pipe welded in but there are a couple of things to remember.

1: Will FAIL an MOT emissions test.
2: Will throw up a CEL light on the dash.

And will lose power in general as decating a 2.0 seems to rob it of umph ...sports cat a better bet

2.0 is nice and easy as far as cats go, just need to unbolt and get yourself one from a scrapper and bolt in, I think you can get the secondhand for under £50

I understand the loss in power and such and I'm not bothered it's not a fast car and never will be in my eyes it is purely going to be used as a show car and when it's spitting flames that is what people want at shows! Now I don't want anyone to misinterprate this as me trying to slag off coupes I'm not I love the coupes I am hopefully getting a v6 to use as a daily drive

Instead of de-catting, try getting a higher speed cat. You could also buy yourself a replacement straight pipe to swap over with the cat for shows.

What I will more than likely do it de cat the manifold and then have a custom stainless exhaust made and I will make it with a removable bolt in section for an optional cat
